Formatting reguirements
Dear authors!
The editors of the electronic scientific journal «Smart Technologies journal» on the basis of the Astana International University LLP accepts for consideration previously unpublished manuscripts of articles that meet the goals of the journal and the requirements for a scientific level. Also, the author(s) send the accompanying document in electronic format.
The manuscript of the article is sent to the editors ONLY by online download through the interface of the journal's website. To do this, you need to register on the journal website stj.aiu.kz in the "Registration" section, or if you have registration, log in to the system by clicking on "Login" and specifying "Username" and "Password" in the empty line (See Guidelines for Submitting Articles). The text of the article, formatted in accordance with the requirements, should be uploaded in electronic format (with the extensions doc, docx, rtf) in the "Submit Article" section. Each author needs to register on the journal's website, saving his login and password to enter.
ATTENTION: Articles that are not uploaded to the site are not accepted for consideration. The texts of articles sent to the personal e-mails of the editors or to the e-mail of the journal are not considered.
Authors must indicate in a cover letter in the Open Journal System or Editorial Manager that the submitted manuscript has not been published anywhere before, and that it does not contain borrowed text fragments from other works without reference to them.
The originality of the manuscript is pre-checked in the StrikePlagiarism system, the text of the article with a degree of uniqueness above 75 percent (%) is sent to confidential reviewers. The author(s) will be able to track the comments of the confidential reviewer through the journal's open system website and, accordingly, correct / supplement the article based on the comments of the reviewers. The author can also receive information about a positive conclusion in his personal account on the Open Journal System website. If the article is not recommended for publication, the editors send a reasoned refusal to the author.
The authors are responsible for the selection and accuracy of the given historical sources, quotations, statistical and sociological data, proper names, geographical names and other information.
1. Rules for the preparation of article manuscripts:
1.1 Article length: at least 3000 and no more than 7000 words (A4 format, main text font – Times New Roman spacing – 1, free line – 1 cm, font size of the main text – 12, key words, bibliography – 9, text of tables – 9).
1.2 Margins: left – 3 cm, right – 1 cm, bottom and top – 2 cm each.
1.3 The main text is typed in the Word editor.
1.4 Parentheses are used to designate literary sources, for example: (Askarova, 2022: 77).
1.5 For uniformity of style, do not use font highlights (italics, underlining, etc.) in the text.
1.6 Tables, drawings, drawings, etc. are numbered sequentially, under the illustration on a given topic, in the center (14 Font size, regular) (for example, Table 1 – Table name (if the manuscript is written in Kazakh and Russian, the English translation is shown in square brackets [...])). If there is one figure in the article, then it is not numbered. Tables, drawings, pictures, etc. should not exceed 20% of the volume of the article (in case of emergency – 30 %).
2.Structure of the article:
2.1. MRNTI (International Rubricator of Rcientific and Technical Information) number, alignment – left, font – bold;
2.2. The title of the article should reflect the essence and content of the article and attract the attention of the reader. The title should be short. The optimal title length is 5–7 words (9–10 words in some cases). The title of the article should be presented in Russian, Kazakh and English. The title of the article is presented in bold, lowercase letters, alignment is centered;
2.3 Information about the author (s):
- Names of authors (in full) in lowercase letters, bold type in the center, superscript symbol in the form of an asterisk (*) marks the correspondent author.
- place of work (affiliation): name of the organization, address (formed in accordance with the international standard: house, street, city with an index, country). If there are several authors, then it is indicated by superscript characters (1, 2, 3);
- academic degree, title, position;
- ORCID id (explorer unique identifier), e-mail.
2.4 Abstract of at least 150–200 words. The abstract structure includes the following MANDATORY items:
- Introductory remarks about the research topic.
- Goals and objectives.
- Results
- Conclusion
2.5 Keywords – 5–7 words;
2.6 Acknowledgments. If the article is financially supported by a scientific foundation or within the framework of a scientific project, then information about the sponsoring organization and the name of the project and the direction of funding (basic, grant or target-program, etc.) are indicated), the state registration number (OGRN) is indicated; Also, the author(s) can thank the consultants (optional) for their advice in preparing the manuscript, etc.
2.7 For citing: Full name of the author(s). Article title. «Smart Technologies journal» electronic scientific journal. Year. Vol. no. pp. the language of the article (Kaz); (the intended number of the journal). DOI: 80.12586/4555-5577;
Attention! The indicated positions in the structure of the article – MRNTI, the title of the article, Information about the authors, abstract and keywords are given in Kazakh, Russian and English.
2.8 Main text divided into sections
Introduction consists of the following main elements:
Rationale for the choice of topic; relevance of the topic or issue. In justifying the choice of topic based on the description of the experience of predecessors, the presence of a problematic situation is reported (lack of any research, the emergence of a new object, etc.).
The relevance of the topic is determined by the general interest in the study of this object, but the lack of exhaustive answers to existing questions, it is proved by the theoretical or practical significance of the topic.
Definition of the object, subject, goals, objectives, methods, approaches, hypotheses and significance of this study. The purpose of the research should be related to the proof of the thesis, that is, the presentation of the subject of research in the aspect chosen by the author.
Materials and research methods. The methodology should consist of a description of the materials and progress of the work, as well as a full description of the methods used. Scientific methodology should include: research questions; proposed hypothesis (thesis); research stages; research methods.
Characterization or description of the research material includes its presentation in qualitative and quantitative terms. Characteristics of the material is one of the factors that determine the reliability of the conclusions and research methods.
This section describes how the issue was studied: detailed information without repeating previously published findings; the identification of sources and the description of newly identified archival and other written materials are used, with the obligatory display of novelty when using materials and methods.
Discussion (literature review). This section should include fundamental and new works on the topic under study, including foreign authors in English, an analysis of these works in terms of their scientific contribution, as well as gaps in previous studies, which the author supplements in his article.
It is UNACCEPTABLE to have many references that are not related to the work, or inappropriate judgments about the achievements of the author(s), unreasonable references to previous works of the authors.
Results. This is one of the most important sections of the article. In it, the author should analyze the results of his research and compare them with previous works and conclusions. Conclusions are given based on the results obtained in the course of the study, the essence of the object of study is revealed.
Conclusion – generalization and summarizing the work at this stage; confirmation of the truth of the assertion put forward by the author, and the conclusion of the author about the change in scientific knowledge, taking into account the results obtained. Conclusions should not be abstract, they should be aimed at summarizing the results of research in a particular scientific field, with a description of proposals / prospects for further work.
The structure of the conclusion should contain the following questions: How are the goals and methods of the research implemented? What are the results? What are the conclusions? What are the prospects and opportunities for implementation, practical application of the results?
2.9 References and sources.
- References must include at least 10 references to literature or sources (in the original language and used only in the text) in alphabetical order.
- Transliterated references (if the reference is not in English, the English meaning is given in brackets). If it is translated from the Kazakh language, then at the end of the link it should be indicated as (In Kaz.)
ATTENTION! The transliteration process can be carried out using automated software (http://www.translit.ru). However, the resulting transliteration result should be rechecked by the author and the necessary corrections made (See Appendix 1)
Appendix 1. Sample design of References:
References are given in brackets in the main text (Askarova, 2014: 105). The bibliographic list is given in 12 pt at the end of the article in alphabetical order without numbering. Bibliographic references in the text should be given with the name of the author, year of publication and page (Askarova, 2014: 105). If the references are given to a collection of articles or archival materials, instead of the author's surname, either the surname of the responsible editor or compiler of the collection can be indicated. When referring to articles or books written jointly by two authors, both authors are indicated (Tamyrova, Assan, 2015: 104–109). When referring to articles or books written jointly by three or more authors, the surname of the first author should be indicated with “et al.” (Ospanbekova et al., 2014: 107). Archival sources are indicated in full (CSA RK F. 94, L. 1, C. 107, P. 99). When referring to the works of the same author published in the same year, one should distinguish between works by adding the letters a, b, c, to the year of publication (Kassymova, 2021a: 24) (Kassymova, 2021b: 27).

The data used and the list of references are indicated at the end under the headings Data / Sources, "References", "Transliterated References". References are listed in alphabetical order without numbering. Literature in Kazakh, Russian and other languages is transliterated into Latin, in square brackets [...] the English translation is indicated. The place of publication is displayed in full. Abbreviations M., L., A., A-A., St. Petersburg are not used.
References in Russian and Kazakh languages are made in accordance with GOST 7.1-2003 “Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description. General requirements and rules for compiling” (Requirements for editions included in the KOKSON list).
When referring to Internet resources, the site, title and access date are indicated.

«Transliterated References»
"Transliterated References" is a bibliographic information in English, transliteration of the list of used literature. In this section, the list of references written in non-Latin script is transliterated using the Latin alphabet.
Then, in curly brackets, the title of the cited work is translated into English, and at the end, in vertical brackets, the language of the document in the version [In Kaz. / In Russ.] is indicated.
In the case of a citation from a book, the name of the publisher (if it is the name of an institution) and the place of publication are translated into English, and in all other cases they are transliterated.
Manuscripts of articles that are not designed according to the requirements are not accepted for publication.
Instructions for revoking or correcting articles
The members of the editorial board are responsible for the publication of articles with known signs of unethical behavior, plagiarism, self-plagiarism, excessive self-citation by authors, conflicts of interest. If, when writing an article, the principles of publication and / or scientific ethics were violated, the scientific editor of the journal, based on the decision of the editorial board, must retraction the publication.
Articles can be withdrawn by the author (s) or the editors of the journal. The editorial board carries out the withdrawal (retraction) of published articles in case of violation of publication and / or scientific ethics, based on the recommendations of COPE. An article is withdrawn / seizure (retracted) in the event of: - if there is clear evidence that the data obtained is unreliable or obtained as a result of illegal actions, for example, falsification of data;
- the discovery of the fact of publication of the manuscript in another edition before its publication in the «Smart Technologies journal»;
- detection of plagiarism in the article, including the detection of the borrowing of figures, graphs, tables, etc.
- the presence in the article of gross errors that can negatively affect other scientists and their research, for example, a miscalculation or error in an experiment;
- the appearance of claims about copyright for the article or its individual parts by third parties;
- the presence of information in the article that contradicts the principles, standards and norms of publication and / or scientific ethics.
In such cases above, the editorial board of the journal conducts a check, according to the results of which the article can be withdrawn / remove (retracted) from publication. For this, an act of retraction of the article from publication is drawn up, which is confirmed and signed by the scientific editor. A copy of the act is sent to the author for correspondence of the article. After that, on the journal's website, the article is marked as tragic, indicating the reasons. The editorial board publishes information about the withdrawal (retraction) of the article on the main page of the journal's website and places the information, after the procedure of withdrawal (retraction) of the article, in the subsequent issue of the journal.
Editorial office of the «Smart Technologies journal» responsibly, objectively and carefully examines all substantiated appeals regarding violations found in published issues. The editors consider it the responsibility and obligation of the authors and reviewers to inform the editors as quickly as possible about the mistakes and violations that they have identified after the publication of the material.
